Tips to Add a Spark to Your Wedding Anniversary During Quarantine

These past months have been quite a roller coaster for everyone. With everything that has been going on lately, you may have gone through a lot of different emotions and stress. Most of us have had to adapt to a new routine and make a few changes to make it work at home. It has been a whole new challenge especially if you had to take care of your kids on top of your daily schedule. Time has been flying so fast and you just realised it’s that time again... Yes, I’m talking about your wedding anniversary!

Wedding milestone anniversary

As a married woman, I’m pretty sure you’re looking forward to that celebration as much as I do. But after such a long time in lockdown and so many uncertainties, you may be thinking it would be best to postpone your anniversary until things get back to normal. If you are used to going out and hire a nanny to look after the kids, celebrating it under these unexpected circumstances probably feels challenging. Some of you are not even ready yet to go outside and prefer staying safe for now. Not to mention that being unprepared for this whole new situation, chances are you are running out of ideas to make it really special.

What if I tell you that you can still make it a once-in-a-lifetime experience? Yes, it’s still possible and I guarantee you will keep great memories if done right. So let me give you a few ideas you can get inspiration from so you can make it an unforgettable night. Have you considered having a special celebration with the entire family? What about hiring a virtual chef to teach you how to cook a special meal? This would be a great opportunity for your family to learn something new while having fun at the same time.

Jacuzzi

Creating a warm and relaxing atmosphere can go a long way. If you have enough space, you can set up an inviting ambiance either in your bedroom or living room. You could also hire a jacuzzi or hot tub. If the weather allows, have your celebration in the garden and lay out lots of LED candles. Put a playlist together with either your wedding songs or favourite ones. As long as they remind you of the important steps of your life that’s all that matters. You can be sure your partner will be blown away! To make her/him feel special, get nice champagne and some of her/his favourite finger foods. To make it even more complete, get plenty of flowers or balloons to create a unique atmosphere.

Over the past few months, many industries have managed to adapt to this new normal life. You may not know this or just not be aware of it but many of them keep offering their services virtually. This means you can have an intimate dinner at home while keeping the magic alive! You can cook a special meal and hire lovely tableware such as a tablecloth, glassware, plates, and cutlery. You are all set to bring a fine Michelin dining experience to your house. Of course, don’t forget to get a beautiful bunch of flowers and candles to create an even more romantic scenery. If you want to add a special touch, hire a musician or singer who can play enchanting melodies while you’re having your candlelight dinner.

Outdoor movie

During quarantine, you’ve probably been binge-watching Netflix. But when was the last time you had a proper movie night together? As we’re talking about your anniversary I’m obviously suggesting a more romantic night not just going to the movies. You can have the celebration in your garden, hire a rear projector, and set up a nice atmosphere. Lay down a comfortable mattress or mat on the grass or floor. Even better, have a hot tub, some champagne or wine with some nibbles. You can add a magical touch watching the stars together before the show starts. To make it even more romantic, have a slideshow ready with your wedding pictures and beautiful background music you can watch prior to the movie.

Dancing lesson

As a couple, you know each other quite well by now. You have surely been through a lot together. You shared good and bad times and now probably more than ever. Both of you may have a hectic work life and it’s probably quite impossible for you to have a quiet time. Your wedding anniversary is probably the best chance to slow down the pace. Take a break from work and have some quality time with your partner. Take this opportunity to realise one of your dreams and try something new. So, how about hiring a virtual dance teacher and learn a new ballroom choreography together? Not your typical night out but it sure can bring a lot of fun and get you even closer.

Of course, this is not an exhaustive list but it can help you broaden your perspectives. And the good thing is that all the above options can be adapted and adjusted to your own personal space. Also, knowing that you can still have your celebration will surely brighten your day and get your mood up. Remember this is an important milestone for both of you and you definitely want to make it count. At the end of the day, what matters is seeing that spark in your partner’s eyes and create other special memories together.
